Second class recently enjoyed a visit to Bandon library to meet the wonderful author, Leona Forde. Leona is a fantastic local author, who has published the popular children’s books, “Millie McCarthy is a Complete Catastrophe” and “Millie McCarthy and the Irish Dancing Disaster”. We can’t wait to get our hands on her third book which will be available soon! Second class really enjoyed listening to Leona read extracts from her book, as well as getting the opportunity to get into role and play the characters from her books. They loved dressing up in wigs and props for this. Leona organized a question and answer session about being a writer for the pupils, as well as quizzing the children on their knowledge of her books. Lastly, Leona did a really enjoyable writing workshop with the children, where they learned lots of helpful tips. The pupils were really inspired by Leona and loved their trip to the library.
