On Wednesday 16th February, Junior Infants went to visit John Canty’s farm. We were very excited to put on our wellies and head off on the bus. When we got to the farm the first thing we did was to wash our wellies before we went into the milking parlour. There we saw three cows being milked. Next we headed over to the calves’ shed where everyone had a turn at feeding the baby calves milk from a bucket. After that we went to the shed where the calves are born. We saw a very new calf, only a few hours old. Finally we cleaned our wellies before we got back on the bus to take us back to school. Everyone got a lovely wooly hat as a souvenier of our trip to the farm.
