On Friday, December 9th, our local councillor and former pupil Sean O’Donovan paid a visit to the school.

Cllr O’Donovan talked to the pupils of fifth and sixth classes about local government and the work of Cork County Council. He also showed them how our electoral system works. The pupils voted in a pretend election for their favourite pop stars. A quota was set, there was a check for any spoiled votes and the votes were counted. A good election for Ed Sheeran and Harry Styles – both elected on the first  count. Not so good for Lady Gaga.

We would like to thank Sean for taking the time to visit the school.
